I’m a Makeup Artist for the EDC New York Performers

I’m a festival girl. Last year, I attended Holy Ship!, Mysteryland, Moonrise, a handful of smaller festivals like the Dirtybird BBQ in Brooklyn, and countless local events. The year before, I experienced¬†the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, my first year of Moonrise, and Bass Center at Madison Square Garden. Electronic music is my blood. It’s just a part of me.

So of course, I was thrilled when Insomniac hired me in as a supporting makeup artist for EDC New York! The event will take place on May 14th and 15th at Citi Field in Queens. It has been a dream of mine to partake in the creative vision that goes on behind a large-scale festival! I can finally cross that off my bucket list.

Let’s take a look at some of the outlandish costumery and makeup that EDC has offered through the years:

On set with FESTtheSERIES

Last week, I had the pleasure of working with the crew at FESTtheSERIES for their upcoming season. My abs hurt from constant bouts of laughter that afternoon! The¬†web series, led by fellow #shipfam Megan and Steve, pokes fun at the antics that go on at music festivals – and trust me, it’s hilarious.

For this particular episode, I took on the challenge of aging Megan about 10-15 years. In order to figure out what to create on her smooth complexion, I thought about what my own clients prefer to cover up: blotchiness, dark spots, dullness. The look had to be kept subtle for the camera, but the effect was clear.
